不粘附——是固體材料中小的表面張力,不粘附任何物質(zhì)。
無毒害——具有生理惰性,作為人工血管和臟器長期植入體內(nèi)無不良反應(yīng)。
聚四氟乙烯相對分子質(zhì)量較大,低的為數(shù)十萬,高的達(dá)一千萬以上
,一般為數(shù)百萬(聚合度在104數(shù)量級,而聚乙烯僅在103)。一般結(jié)晶度為90~95%,熔融溫度為327~342℃。聚四氟乙烯分子中CF2單元按鋸齒形狀排列,由于氟原子半徑較氫稍大,所以相鄰的CF2單元不能完全按反式交叉取向,而是形成一個螺旋狀的扭曲鏈,氟原子幾乎覆蓋了整個高分子鏈的表面。這種分子結(jié)構(gòu)解釋了聚四氟乙烯的各種性能。溫度低于19℃時,形成13/6螺旋;在19℃發(fā)生相變,分子稍微解開,形成15/7螺旋[1]。
不足
1、聚四氟乙烯具有“冷流性”。即材料制品在長時間連續(xù)載荷作用下發(fā)生的塑性變形(蠕變),這給它的應(yīng)用帶來一定的限制。如當(dāng)PTFE用作密封墊時,為密封嚴(yán)密而把螺栓擰得很緊,以致超過特定的壓縮應(yīng)力時,會使墊圈產(chǎn)生“冷流”(蠕變)而被壓扁。這些缺點可通過加入適當(dāng)?shù)奶盍霞案倪M零件結(jié)構(gòu)等方法來克服。
2、PTFE具有突出的不粘性,限制了其工業(yè)上的應(yīng)用。它是極好的防粘材料,這種性能又使它與其他物件的表面粘合極為困難。
3、PTFE的線膨脹系數(shù)為鋼的10~20倍,比多數(shù)塑料大,其線膨脹系數(shù)隨著溫度的變化而發(fā)生很不規(guī)律的變化。在應(yīng)用PTFE時,如果對這方面性能注意不夠,很容易造成損失。
