電控柜下方要有進氣孔，上方要有排氣孔，進排氣孔要裝上金屬絲網(wǎng)以避免灰塵和異物進入柜內(nèi)，防止液體滴入。金屬絲網(wǎng)的目孔疏密決定除塵的效果，其目孔要較細，以確?；覊m和較大的水珠不能吸入柜內(nèi)。電控柜上方排氣孔要加裝排氣扇，并確保足夠的排氣氣壓，使空氣對流暢通。
散熱設(shè)計PLC使用的環(huán)境溫度容許值為0～45℃，一般的電氣室內(nèi)使用沒問題。PLC屬小發(fā)熱量裝置，單獨應(yīng)用時，其自然散熱不成問題。但工業(yè)現(xiàn)場使用的PLC控制系統(tǒng)大多還有大容量接觸器、變壓器、變頻器或其它大功率變流裝置，這些均屬大發(fā)熱量裝置，如不考慮整個控制系統(tǒng)的散熱，勢必造成PLC及其它對溫度敏感變流裝置的環(huán)境溫度超過容許值。
不能把PLC的環(huán)境溫度限制在其容許值以下時，要采用下述方法降低環(huán)境溫度，使它在容許溫度內(nèi)。由工程經(jīng)驗公式可知，要降低電控柜內(nèi)的溫升，則需要加大配電柜的尺寸，或者增加配電柜內(nèi)的換氣風(fēng)量。加大配電柜尺寸的方法不經(jīng)濟，故一般情況下采用增加冷卻風(fēng)扇換氣量的方法。在電控柜內(nèi)安裝冷卻風(fēng)扇時，應(yīng)讓大發(fā)熱量器件盡量靠近冷空氣進風(fēng)口，提高散熱效率，而且盡量避免將PLC安裝在熱源的上方
因PLC控制系統(tǒng)大發(fā)熱器件導(dǎo)致設(shè)置場所的溫度異常升高時，可采用裝設(shè)通風(fēng)換氣設(shè)備，把電控柜的熱量排到室外，或者設(shè)置冷房裝置強制降低設(shè)置場所的環(huán)境溫度。
